One morning, as Burleigh is exiting his vehicle, two young men pull him from his car, point a gun at his head, and tell him to lie on the ground. Then they drive away in the car. After they drive away, Burleigh calls the police. Burleigh cannot identify the two men. Pretend that you are the investigating officer who responds to the 911 call. Address the following questions:

1. Compute CSU’s taxable income or loss, showing the calculation (on a “white paper” schedule not on IRS forms). Taxable income should equal Form 1120S, Schedule K, line 18, which should be the same as Form 1120S, Schedule M-1, line 8. Assume the I.R.C. section 1374 and 1375 taxes do not apply. HINT: the refund of prior state income taxes is taxable other income. TI check figure $127,500.

2. Compute Taewon’s stock basis, showing the calculation, before any distribution. Taewon’s ending stock basis check figure before any distribution $101,100.

3. Calculate CSU’s ending AAA balance, showing the calculation, before any distribution.

Project Resource Management and Project Procurement Management are the two knowledge areas in the PMBOK (PMBOK® Guide) that provide standards for managing the human and non-human resources for a project. Procurement has been widely researched and written about in the context of CSR, specifically as it relates to sustainable and responsible sourcing. The topic of human resource management as a strategy for social responsibility in business is emerging as more organizations appreciate the value of human capital as a business resource. The PMBOK (PMBOK® Guide) is not explicit on how to incorporate sustainability and social responsibility principles into resource management for projects. Project managers must rely on organizational process assets that provide guidance in these areas.

Using the material generated in Activity 4 of this unit and the following list of possible topics, draft a response to the arguments presented in the assigned readings in an essay of about 1200 words. Using the research methods you studied in Unit 3, find, incorporate, and document at least two additional, academic-quality sources in your final essay, for a minimum of four sources.  Your essay should be well organized, with good paragraph structure and transition; a strong, ethical, persuasive approach; an appropriate introduction and conclusion; and lively, precise, and grammatically correct sentences. Use a variety of rhetorical techniques, as appropriate, and use MLA-style documentation to cite any material that you quote, paraphrase, or summarize. Revise, edit, and proofread as necessary.
