Road to Wigan Pier Critical Analysis Paper

If economic production can be thought of as existing on a spectrum between the two extremes of Economic Liberalism on one end (free markets, free trade, limited government regulation, but greater inequality) and Socialism on the other (government direction of production and ownership over the factors of production, illiberal trade, but greater equality), George Orwell uses Road to Wigan Pier as an argument in favor of Socialism.

Today, this debate continues in the form of arguments in favor of Economic Liberalism and Economic Populism.  Using the arguments advanced in Road to Wigan Pier as well as those presented in class and any outside research you conduct, form your own position between these competing economic systems.  Your position can be an argument for one system over the other or a combination of the two.

Your paper must be a minimum of 6 pages.
