Pay for Performance
In the Lecture and Research Update, eight (8) limitations of performance-based pay are listed. (A 1½-page response is required.)
- Discuss four (4) limitations of performance-based pay in light of the relevant theories discussed in the Lecture and Research Update and your text (pp. 262-264). For example, you may discuss the limitation of excessive dependence on monetary rewards in light of the expectancy and goal setting theories.
- Use this information to draw a conclusion as to whether the notion of performance-based pay is fundamentally flawed or if it often fails because of poor implementation.
