HR SWOT Assignment

SWOT Analysis of HR Practices
Select an organization/company of your choice. Evaluate the company’s employment practices relative to your industry to discuss the internal strengths, weaknesses, external opportunities, and threats related to human resources and practices. Apply the HR concepts from the readings and use additional research.
In addition to the textbook, a minimum of (3) business resources must be used and listed in APA 6th edition reference guidelines.
Examples (choose a few):
• Company’s recruitment and selection process, hiring practices, workforce diversity in staffing, impact of offshoring or outsourcing, using part-time or contingent workers, training opportunities, employment policies, compensation and benefits, performance standards and evaluation, employee morale, organizational culture, employee relations, employee involvement/engagement, leadership and workforce development, information sharing, dissemination of organizational knowledge, human resource competencies, HR managing organizational change.
Provide recommendations for best practices in HR management.
The assignment should demonstrate your ability to identify an area within your organization that could be improved upon by modifying the human resource practice. For example, you may believe there is an organizational deficiency with regard to the job analyses utilized within the company. If so, it is your responsibility to determine what the organization needs to do to improve upon that HR practice.
• You must use your own original writing and critical analysis.
• Do not use extensive quotations from other sources.
• Use paraphrasing, justification, and rationale for explaining your analysis and recommendations clearly and substantively

Grading Criteria
• a minimum of 4-5 pages
• double-space, in length (excluding the cover page, references, and appendices),
• using a 12-point font size,
• You must use headings, subheadings, and APA reference guidelines as noted.
Additional research is required.
• Use the data presented in the case study and the information provided by required course readings, class activities and discussions.
• Be sure to apply concepts, frameworks, theories, ideas from the required readings to the analysis.
Paper Guidelines:
The paper should include – at minimum – these four sections/headings:
• Introduction– Overview of the entire case and the relevant talent management issues

• Analysis – Separate subheading should be included for each question in Analysis

• Conclusion – A synthetic analysis of the case issues in total and your personal key points/take away’s from the case and the specific implications to HR management

• References – in APA 6th edition format

IMPORTANT: You must use your own original writing and critical analysis.
• Do not use quotations from the case.
• Do not restate the facts of the case.
• Use paraphrasing, justification, and rationale for explaining your analysis and recommendations clearly and substantively.
• Outside resources are to be integrated into your assignment. (Don’t forget the websites)
